Picket fences

A lower, open fence that marks the line and keeps a front yard friendly. Painted white or left natural, with a walk gate where the path comes through.

White, or the wood itself?

Two picket fences, two front walks. Painted white stands out against brick; natural wood blends into the yard. Both get a walk gate where the path comes through.

Painted white

The classic look. Pointed tops, a gate across the walk, bright against brick and lawn.

Natural wood

Warmer and quieter. The same pickets and gate, left to weather with the yard.

Picket fence questions

Is a picket fence for the front or the back yard?
Mostly the front: it marks the property line and frames the walk without closing the house off. It also works in back, around a garden or a play area.
Painted white or natural wood?
White gives the classic look and stands out against brick. Natural wood is warmer and blends with the yard. Tell us what you're picturing and we'll talk it through.
Can a picket fence have a gate?
Yes. Most picket fences we build have a walk gate across the front path. See gates.
